Rejoice: Geshe Gelek Chodha, Ven. Amy Miller and Professor Jan. Willis

In case you missed it, here’s a recap of the Center’s recent teachings and retreats, with links to photos, audio and video. Our heartfelt gratitude to Geshe Chodha, Ven. Amy Miller and Professor Jan Willis for coming to teach our community. Please come back soon!

In January 2016, Shantideva Meditation hosted teachings with Geshe Gelek Chodha on the Eight Verses of Thought Transformation. Please enjoy the video of the public talk: “Training Our Mind to be Happy (and to Make Others Happy).” Photos of the weekend teachings are now available on our Facebook page.

In March 2016, Ven. Amy Miller gave a public talk, “Life as Practice,” and led a weekend retreat at Tibet House, “Touching Reality – Meditation, Mindfulness, and a Meaningful Life.” Please enjoy photos from the retreat on our Facebook page. Regrettably, owing to a technical malfunction, audio/video recordings of these teachings are not available.

Ven. Amy will be leading another meditation retreat, “Finding Focus and Clarity” at Garrison Institute in May. For more information and to register, please click here.

In April 2016, the Center hosted Professor Jan Willis for a public talk and retreat at Tibet House. The topic of Friday’s public talk was Buddhism and social justice, during which Professor also shared stories about her own life. During the weekend retreat, she led students in a recitation of Shantideva’s Guide to the Bodhisattva’s Way of Life, as well as commentary, discussion and a Q&A afterward.

Audio of Friday’s public talk is available on Soundcloud. Photos of the retreat can be found on our Facebook page. The weekend teachings were not recorded in order to preserve a retreat setting for participants.
